about the artist

my name is Rowan, and I run milkberry moon from my apartment on Vancouver Island, BC. I have two helpers, Judy and Merlin, who are my daily muses and moral support.

every plush i create is from my heart, i love knowing that the creatures i make are going to find their way into someones arms to give them comfort. being able to emotionally connect with others through my plushies is deeply fulfilling, and brings so much meaning to what I do.

i'm inspired by folklore, animals, the depth of human feeling, and the unexpected magic of organic processes and complex layering of materials. I'm currently taking ceramics classes and broadening my textile skillset to eventually be able to merge the two mediums and expand what i'm able to offer. <3 

because my work is so closely tied to animals and nature, my dream is to eventually move to a quiet plot of land where I can build a sanctuary for rescue animals, cultivate my own plants for natural dyes, and have some sheep to ethically source my own wool.
